Established in 1997, The school provides tailored education for looked-after children and young people with complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We pride ourselves on delivering an individualised and nurturing approach that promotes re-engagement with learning, personal growth, and meaningful long-term outcomes.

Our curriculum includes one-to-one classroom teaching, ASDAN qualifications, and outdoor education to help pupils build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning. Our ultimate goal is to empower pupils to take greater control of their lives as they transition into further education, training, or work.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong, inspiring, and values-led leadership across the school.
  • Ensure the continued delivery of outstanding pastoral care, safeguarding, and teaching standards.
  • Oversee curriculum development and quality assurance, with a focus on innovative, individualised learning.
  • Lead, support, and develop a dedicated staff team in line with the school’s therapeutic ethos.
  • Work collaboratively with residential managers, external agencies, and parents/carers to ensure joined-up care and education.
  • Contribute strategically as a member of the company’s management board.

What We’re Looking For

  • A proven track record of effective and inspiring school leadership, ideally within a specialist or therapeutic setting.
  • Experience working with pupils with complex SEMH needs or those who are looked after.
  • A flexible, forward-thinking, and resilient approach, with the ability to engage and motivate vulnerable young people.
  • A collaborative leadership style that aligns with a supportive, adaptable working culture.
  • A passion for making a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to drive a manual vehicle (company cars provided for use during school hours).

Why Join this school?

  • Be part of a respected, child-centred organisation with a strong track record of positive outcomes.
  • Work closely with a passionate multidisciplinary team that truly believes in changing lives.
  • Enjoy the autonomy to shape the school’s future direction while being supported by a cohesive senior team.
